Intensity in Sex Addiction Treatment: Utilizing a Team-Approach

In-Person Workshop Saturday June 17th, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM

In this workshop, licensed therapist and co-owner of Family Solutions Counseling, Joshua Nichols, will present and discuss how a team-approach model to treating sex addiction is effective and arguably necessary for a healthy and sustainable recovery.

Objectives include:
-Acquire an overall better understanding of this condition we call "sex addiction."
-Discern the difference in a clients who are sexually compulsive and those who are sexually addicted.
-Learn about certain tools, resources, and interventions commonly utilized and practiced as part of treating this population.
​-Develop a better understanding of how to add intensity in an outpatient practice.

This course meets criteria for 3 hours of general continuing education by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health for Oklahoma LPC and LMFT license holders, by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers (provider #20230088) for Oklahoma LCSW license holders, by the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors (certificate #20230018) for LADC and CADC license holders (3 hours specific CEUs), and for Oklahoma case managers (3 hours general CEUs).

Josh Nichols, LMFT, CSAT

Joshua Nichols received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma Christian University in 2003 where he majored in both, Family Studies and Vocational Ministry. In 2006, he graduated with his master's in marriage and family therapy from Oklahoma State University.

Josh is currently a co-owner and therapist at Family Solutions Counseling (FSC), a multi-therapist group practice with offices in NW Oklahoma City and Davis. FSC is primarily known for their specialization in treating individuals and couples impacted by betrayal trauma, which includes sex addiction, compulsive sexual behavior, and/or infidelity. Josh is a former board member for the Oklahoma Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (OKAMFT). He recently became a recipient of the Oklahoma State University College of Human Sciences 2016 Rising Star Award.

Josh and his wife, Amanda, have three growing children. They reside in the OKC metro area.
