Texas LPC CEUs

The Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors does not endorse continuing education providers or provide a list of approved continuing education providers. Instead, the board has adopted regulations indicating what is considered an appropriate continuing education workshop, webinar, or on-demand course. This means a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor may obtain continuing education from any individual or organization providing continuing education as long as the hours are pertinent to the mental health field. Board authorization is not required for an individual or organization to provide continuing education. Licensees are still subject to continuing education compliance audits, and in these audits, staff assess continuing education clock hours submitted.

The Texas counseling board does require a total of four LPC ethics CE hours, two hours which must be specific to Texas' ethic's codes. Texas counselors must also receive approved training in human trafficking during each renewal period. The Texas LPC renewal period is two years.

The above is provided for information purposes only. Texas LPCs are encouraged to review their current CEU requirements before seeking continuing education credit from the Oklahoma Counseling Institute
