Are you anxious about acuity? Concerned about catastrophe? Second-guessing scenarios around safety?
At this training, participants will discuss challenges around identifying and therapizing acute behavior in clients and explore best practices for referring clients and for managing crisis in acute or chronic settings. The goal of this workshop is to empower therapists to be confident even in the most stressful situations we encounter. Join Colin Turpin, LPC, as he explores assessments for safety concerns and best practices for crisis stabilization at every level of care. This presentation will also provide an overview of effective safety planning and options for referrals, when needed.

This course meets criteria for 3 hours of general continuing education by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health for Oklahoma LPC and LMFT license holders, by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers (provider #20250088) for Oklahoma LCSW license holders, by the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors (certificate #20260018) for LADC and CADC license holders (3 hours non-specific CEs), and for Oklahoma case managers (3 hours general CEs). 3 Hours NBCC CEs.

Colin Turpin, LPC
Colin Turpin, LPC is an inpatient therapist at Oakwood Springs Mental Health Hospital. Graduating from UCO in 2021, he has worked at a variety of clinical settings in the OKC area including community mental health, partial hospitalization, and inpatient care. Colin is passionate about empowering fellow therapists to excel in their practices.
