In-Person Workshop: The Erotic Compass: An introduction to Sex Therapy

This engaging and informative 3-hour workshop is designed to introduce licensed therapists to the fundamental concepts, tools, and techniques of sex therapy. Aimed at clinicians who are new to sex therapy or wish to expand their practice, this workshop will provide a solid foundation for integrating sexual health and intimacy into therapy sessions with individuals and couples.

Objectives Include:

-Participants will learn the operational definition of sexual shame and how it manifests in our clientele.
-Participants will begin exploring their own “growing edges” around sexual shame and note areas needed for further learning and development.
-Participants will begin learning about what is included in Sex Therapy, Comprehensive Sexual Education, introduction to a general model utilized, and resources to utilize as needed.

This course meets criteria for 3 hours of general continuing education by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health for Oklahoma LPC and LMFT license holders, by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers (provider #20250088) for Oklahoma LCSW license holders, by the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors (certificate #20250018) for LADC and CADC license holders (3 hours non-specific CEs), and for Oklahoma case managers.

Kayla Jones, LPC

Kayla, originally from Oklahoma, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma and her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southern Nazarene University. With a background in community mental health, inpatient treatment, day treatment, and outpatient care, Kayla has developed a rich understanding of trauma and attachment. She’s also had the privilege of teaching in diverse settings, including universities, webinars, and podcasts.

Outside of her professional life, Kayla is a proud mother to a wonderful little girl, happily married to Jeff Jones, and enjoys being an active participant in Oklahoma City’s public art scene.

Today, Kayla is passionate about helping individuals reconnect with their true selves, understand the impact of their past on the present, and create a sense of safety in their lives. As an affirming therapist, she is especially dedicated to supporting the Trans and Non-binary community. Kayla strives to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where everyone feels safe and heard.
