This 3-hour workshop will provide an introductory overview of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for psychosis (CBTp). It will provide an introduction to CBT, explore how this approach is applied to working with individuals with both longstanding and early psychosis, and introduce key CBTp skills. The format of the workshop will include didactics, clinical discussion, clinical case presentation and experiential exercises.

Objectives Include:
-List key research demonstrating the effectiveness of CBTp.
-Describe the application of CBTp to working with psychosis.
-Introduce the general principles of CBTp

This course meets criteria for 3 hours of general continuing education by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health for Oklahoma LPC and LMFT license holders, by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers (provider #20250088) for Oklahoma LCSW license holders, by the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors (certificate #20260018) for LADC and CADC license holders, and for Oklahoma case managers (3 hours general CEs).

Dr. Kate Hardy

Kate Hardy, Clin.Psych.D is a Clinical Professor at Stanford University and California Licensed Psychologist who has specialized in working with individuals with psychosis for over 20 years in research, service development and clinical settings. Dr. Hardy received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at UCSF. She directs the INSPIRE Training program, is the Co-Director of the INSPIRE Early Psychosis clinic , co-leads the national Psychosis-Risk and Early Psychosis Program Network (PEPPNET) and is President Elect of IEPA: Early Intervention in Mental Health. She has published numerous papers and co-edited two books including Intervening Early in Psychosis: A Team Approach and Decoding Delusions: A Clinician’s Guide to Working with Delusions and Other Extreme Beliefs. She provides psychosocial interventions for individuals with psychosis, and their families, and is an internationally recognized trainer in CBT for psychosis and early psychosis models of care.
