ODAPCA Office Is Moving to Virtual
On December 13, 2023 the Oklahoma Drug and Alcohol Professional Counselors Association (ODAPCA) announced via email that it’s administrative staff would be transitioning to fully remote work and moving out of their current office location at 18735 NE 23rd St C, Harrah, OK 73045.
In their email announcement, ODAPCA stated that, “this decision was made in light of bigger and better future plans for ODAPCA”.
ODAPCA, which has been at their Harrah office for a little over three years, moved from their previous location at 9301 S I-35 Service Rd. Moore, between December 2020 and January 2021.
ODAPCA, which is in charge of certifying several Drug and Alcohol professions in Oklahoma, including Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS), Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor (LADC), Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors with Co-Occurring Mental Health Issues (LADC/MH), Clinical Supervisor (CCS) and Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP), gave no indication in their email if testing protocols for these credentials may be affected.
OCI reached out to ODAPCA for comment concerning how their move would affect testing for drug and alcohol professionals. ODAPCA responded to OCI via email stating that “For written exams there are several of [sic] other testing sites that SMT will provide as the closest one to you. And for oral exams we are currently going to do it in MACU [MId-America Christian University] Since one of our examiners offered us his office. I would say the only difference Is the oral exam location "
ODAPCA did assure their email recipients that “Our team will continue to provide the same level of service and support you have come to expect from us, despite the change in our working environment.”
